ENTEL, a nuclear industry publication, compiles this table of every US nuclear power reactor and every research and test reactor on the NRC and IAEA lists, from the power plants running today to research reactors taken apart decades ago, with each reactor's status, operator, reactor type, power and key dates. Search it by reactor name, operator, state or docket number. Power is thermal output in megawatts or kilowatts thermal (MWt, kWt), plus electrical capacity in megawatts electric (MWe) for power plants.

Power reactors come from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) list of operating reactors and its list of reactors being decommissioned, with capacity and dates from the World Nuclear Association. Research and test reactors come from the NRC list of licensed research reactors and, for reactors the NRC never licensed, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Research Reactor Database. Site coordinates come from Wikidata.
A reactor being decommissioned has shut down for good, and its site is being cleaned up. The NRC uses DECON for a plant dismantled soon after shutdown and SAFSTOR for a plant held in safe storage for decades before dismantling. A decommissioned reactor has had its license terminated, although spent fuel often stays on the site in dry storage casks.
Every Wednesday the dataset is checked against the NRC lists, the World Nuclear Association feed and the IAEA database. When those lists show that a reactor changed status, the dataset changes that day. When a change needs a date the lists do not give, like the day a license was terminated, the date is added once a dated source confirms it.
The plutonium and tritium production reactors at Hanford and Savannah River are not included yet, nor are military and space test reactors the IAEA does not list, reactors on Navy ships and submarines in service, subcritical assemblies or canceled projects. The NS Savannah and the Navy's moored training ships are included because the NRC and the IAEA list them. Power figures for research reactors outside NRC oversight are as reported to the IAEA, and a figure that contradicts the reactor's type is left blank. When a source gives only a reactor's city, the dataset places that reactor at the center of the city, and the table's location column says city level.
